WHAT IS VISION FM? VISION FM was a community radio station based in the Braunstone area of Leicester. The station broadcast seven times on a 28 day RSL ( Restricted Services Licence ).
VISION FM was initially set up by the Braunstone Community Association. The BCA was set up in 2000 after Braunstone made a bid for successful bid for funding under the New Deal for Communities. The BCA is receiving £49.5 million pounds over a seven year period (2000-2007). One of the projects identified early on was the development and management of a Braunstone radio station. The Vision FM project was run by Steve (Antonio) Hanley who sadly passed away suddenly on the 27th September 2006. Without him Vision would have never happened so we all owe him a great debt and miss him a lot.
